DIG was recently featured by Who’s On The Move following news that we received a $55,000 grant from Power:Ed, the charitable giving initiative of the South Carolina Student Loan Corporation.
The funding supports DIG’s five existing afterschool and career development programs. It helps launch five one-week pilot programs in rural communities where interest and need continue to grow, including Allendale, Bamberg, and Barnwell Counties.

As outlined in the article, the grant also supports the tools and training that help keep programming strong as it expands, including medical STEMM learning resources, select VR anatomy and physiology tools, and AI-supported instruction that introduces coding, computational thinking, and early artificial intelligence concepts through small-group, hands-on learning.
This marks a continued partnership with Power:Ed, which previously awarded DIG a $40,000 grant in August 2023.
