He currently serves as a Project Engineer at General Electric. Prior to GE, he worked as a Project Manager and Electrical Engineer at Fluor Corporation, managing the design-build of facilities valued at over $20 million. Known for his strengths in strategic planning, execution, and problem solving, Steven brings a unique blend of technical expertise and community passion to every project he touches.

Steven’s work continues to drive DIG’s vision: ensuring rural youth have the same opportunities as their urban peers—unlocking potential, inspiring innovation, and shaping the 21st-century workforce.

DAVID GLEATON

CO-FOUNDER

David Gleaton co-founded Dreams, Imagination & Gift (DIG) with childhood friend Steven Brown to address a simple but profound injustice: rural students with extraordinary potential too often lack access to the education and mentorship that can unlock their futures. Growing up in Williston, South Carolina, David experienced firsthand how geography can limit opportunity—and he's spent his career changing that equation.

A graduate of the U.S. Air War College—where he was the youngest in program history—David brings more than 20 years of federal technology leadership to DIG's mission. He currently leads enterprise technology strategy at a federal financial regulatory agency, managing platforms that serve millions of Americans. He holds degrees from the University of South Carolina and the Naval Postgraduate School.

At DIG, David focuses on strategic partnerships, resource development, and long-term institutional planning. His work has helped secure transformational support for the organization's vision of building South Carolina's first rural STEM center—ensuring that zip code never determines destiny for the next generation of innovators.
