David Gleaton, is currently an IT Senior Implementation Manager with the Department of Veteran Affairs. David has received numerous honors in his 10+ years of service to the United States government. In 2014 he was awarded a Special Contribution Award by the Department of Veterans Affairs. He also received the Army’s Superior Civil Service Award in 2013 as well as the Army’s Achievement Medal for Civilians 2010. Prior to his current position, David was an IT Portfolio Manager for the United States Army Materiel Command responsible for $40M+ portfolio of information systems. David is a certified Project Manager through the Project Management Institute. David has a fervent belief that our youth in rural communities should have the same access to a quality education and ample economic opportunities as their counterparts in urban communities. David personally knows of the disadvantages that exist in rural communities as he graduated high school in a small town in rural South Carolina. His commitment to see these opportunities realized led him to join Mr. Steven Brown as founding members of the Dreams, Imaginations, and Gift program. David graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2004. He also received a Cost Management Certificate from the Naval PostGraduate School in 2010 and will graduate from the United States Air War College in 2015 with a Master’s Degree in Strategic Studies. David resides in the Montgomery, AL area while completing his Master’s coursework.
